The project involves a consortium of European Agriculture and Rural Organizations with various educational backgrounds, representatives of vocational high schools and employers that will identify a number of positive modules to support education, skills development and professional training for VET persons in agricultural sector, in the response of Europe 2020 strategy for a greater mobility of learners and workers. The main project objective is to analyses how EQF descriptors, especially on levels 3/4, can be used for defining and describing single or specific qualifications in agricultural jobs. To do so, partners will explore labour and skill data for agriculture occupations at the national level as well, and by comparing, will build an accurate picture of the qualifications demands that VET persons must possess at European agricultural labour market. The project has three core final results: a handbook entitled ‘European Skills Passport in Agriculture’ with packages of skills that meet employers’ needs for a variety of agriculture profiles based upon EQF levels 3/4; three-month course of professional English and two-week training course in ICT, aimed to enrich VET persons’ knowledge of professional language terminology and computer literacy; a project web site in 7 languages (EN, BG, DE, IT, NL, NO, PL) where all partners’ outcomes will be placed. The products will be disseminated through a series of round-up discussions and workshops and through existing partner networks of professional bodies and organizations related to the sector.
Quality of methodology
Monitoring and evaluation will be a continuous process going on throughout the project and will be carried out both on a formal and informal level and in the form of self and hetero assessment. There will be five important moments of detailed evaluation: - at the beginning of the project, - after the second meeting in February 2013, - at the end of the first year during the meeting,- in February 2014- the final evaluation at the coordinators final meeting in June 2014.We will examine the achievements and the process: VET teachers and working-class employers, and teachers and students’ participation (qualitative and quantitative analysis), motivation and measurable improvements; level of collaboration and interaction; mutuality; effectiveness of means of communication; methodology effectiveness for using NQF and EQF standards; timing and pace; objectives and expected mid-results and results achievement; impact on the curriculum; associated partners, young farmers and parents involvement; project visibility; project impact. A great help in evaluating the project will be: checklists, questionnaires, diaries written by participants during the exchanges, their comments after them.The final evaluation let to summarize new skills of teachers and trainers, results of the project, which can be popularize after the project.
Aims of relevance
The main goal is to increase the attractiveness and effectiveness of vocational education in agriculture by raising the competence of the teaching staff and to ensure an integrated implementation of existing European instruments (EQF,Europass)in many agriculture occupations.Specific objectives are to:- improve the qualifications of teachers educating future farmers. Teachers must know very precisely the expectations of employers, the specificity of work in agriculture in different European countries- to encourage young people to choose this path of education and better prepare students for the mobile labor market. Participation in the project will allow them to better adapt the content and teaching methods to the EQF in all areas (knowledge, skills, competence)-develop methods to the EQF 3/4 towards working areas of rural economy(knowledge,skills, competence).It will help individuals recognize when and how to move from one proficiency level to another. We intend to address main areas: - the creation of teaching materials in agriculture for levels 3/4 EQF and job skills needs,- the use of ICT- the use of professional foreign language in agriculture education, improve language's skills of workers' of agricultural sector-the cooperation between education sector and working world.This will be achieved through:- foreign language workshops of professional language for teachers- better integration of learning content with the requirements of the labor market- exchange of experiences on teaching methods using modern technology- knowledge of working conditions in agriculture through visits to farms and firms of agricultural sector,-meeting with the agriculture sector employers- intensification of cooperation in the education sector with the world of work-round up discussions and workshops fro integration of learning content to the requirements of labor market-getting in touch with the world of work through visits to farms and firms of agricultural sector.The project covers three areas:-the creation of teaching materials at the level of the EQF Level 2-4 for training in agriculture,- the use of IT in the education of future farmers, -the use of professional foreign language
